Paul Featherstone
Paul Featherstone is a legend in Australian emergency medical circles. Just google him. A very senior paramedic, Paul is the father of modern helicopter rescue. Starting with what is the world’s second rescue helicopter operation and forming the first helicopter rescue organisation in the world to have professional paramedics & doctors on board. He is the father of the Special Casualty Access Team (SCAT). The first paramedic based professional access and rescue unit in the world. Paul has numerous awards for bravery and was a key figure in the Granville rail disaster, the Thredbo landslide and the infamous Beaconsfield mine collapse. Paul is an innovator and a hero, but he is too modest to ever agree.
Trevor Cracknell
Trevor Cracknell is simply Australia’s most experienced winch operator and rescue crewman. He is an experienced crew chief, trainer and assessor of aircrew. Trevor has thousands of actual rescues to his credit. He has played a very active role with the rest of our team in the research and development of rescue tactics and techniques that are currently in use here and all over the world. Trevor is a great instructor and is very relatable to students. With Trevor you are in safe hands.
Trevor Cracknell

Jon Klopper
Jon is one of the most experienced rescue helicopter pilots in the world. Having first learnt to fly in the military, Jon joined Australia’s premier helicopter rescue organisation in Sydney and has been flying missions ever since. Jon is an excellent organiser and experienced chief pilot. Sydney with its rugged wilderness all around, is a very busy hub for helicopter rescue and medical missions, eclipsing almost all other operations in the world, so Jon has many thousands of actual rescue winches, airborne rappels and out landings to his credit.
Steve Talbot
Steve is a senior intensive care paramedic in the New South Wales Ambulance Service. He is also a senior officer in the services Special Operations Team (SOT). Steve is an expert in wilderness search and rescue, vertical rescue, vehicle extrication and tactical medicine, supporting police tactical operations. He is also a current member of the Army Medical corps.

Group Captain Paul Hunt (retired)
Paul is a retired senior officer of the Royal Australian Air Force. He holds many endorsements having flown everything from light fast jets to the Prime Ministers VIP jet. He is an experienced senior pilot/instructor in planning and conducting airborne search and rescue operations; and acted as a senior officer for international operations including UNAMIC support in Cambodia, 8 months in drought relief for PNG and flood relief in Pakistan. Paul has extensive training and experience in warfare and intelligence operations and is a veteran of the Afghan conflict. Dr Adrian Cohen
Dr Cohen is a leading light in emergency medical intervention. His training and credits are long and impressive, having served as the medical director for Australia’s leading medical helicopter service and being an active member of the crew, trained in various advanced rescue skills. Adrian is also the founder of Nurosafe, the leading concussion and spinal care program, and creator of Nurochek, a sophisticated brain injury assessment technology. Adrian has extensive experience in the administration of pre-hospital medical practice as well as training and ongoing development of systems in urban and remote locations. Adrian’s role in the company is to advise and train teams in advanced emergency pre-hospital medical practice and the administration of such practice within your State’s medical-legal framework. He is experienced and skilled in writing detailed medical SOPs to meet your Clinical Governance and Legislative requirements. He works very closely with our intensive care paramedics and specialist rescue personnel to provide effective rescue-medical intervention solutions.

Paul Newland
Paul has a fierce reputation as one of the best crew chiefs in the country. He is an excellent instructor assessor and aims high when conducting his own work and that of others. He currently holds an ATPL in helicopter operations and is actively involved in professional offshore operations. Paul is considered the guru of water rescue by helicopter and is an incredible operator in the worst of conditions. His role in this company is that of water rescue operations trainer and consultant. Paul is also SCAT qualified.
Roger Graham
Roger is a rescue specialist, having decades of experience performing rescues and training rescue teams. He holds a post graduate degree in safety science and a master’s degree in aviation safety and technology. Ex special forces, Roger has many complimentary military related skills, including airborne rappelling, fast roping, combat diver, parachute insertion and is a combat medic. He also worked for the Sydney rescue helicopter as the specialist crewman. Roger is the coordinator for Aviation Esoterix.
